A Witch Hunt Is Exactly What It Is

After Attorney General Jeff Sessions recused himself from the FBI’s investigation into the so-called Russian meddling in the 2016 presidential election, the responsibility for supervising the Russia probe went to Rod Rosenstein, who, during the time period since Sessions’ recusal took place, had been serving as acting attorney general.

Rosenstein is the official who appointed Robert Mueller as a special counsel to take over the FBI investigation.

As previously represented by President Donald Trump, former FBI director James Comey, in his sworn testimony before a congressional committee, indicated that the president was not the subject of any FBI probe.

Comey’s Testimony Requires Special Counsel to Step Down

In a stunning turn of events, former FBI Director James Comey made a recent admission during his testimony before the Senate Intelligence Committee that he intentionally leaked to the press details of his private conversations with the president, and that he did so in order to prod the Department of Justice to appoint a special counsel.

The unprecedented nature of this part of Comey’s testimony can be summed up in this way: The director of the top law enforcement organization in the U.S. intentionally leaked documents to the media in order to manipulate the system, and Comey’s surreptitious action came after the president on numerous occasions had asked him to investigate leakers.

Why Robert Mueller Should Not Be Special Counsel

In a surprise move the Department of Justice via acting Attorney General Rod Rosenstein named Robert Mueller, a former FBI head, as a special counsel to ostensibly oversee the bureau’s probe into Russia’s attempts to influence the 2016 election.

The White House was given only about 30 minutes warning before the announcement was made.

Mueller’s appointment was “not a finding that crimes have been committed,” Rosenstein said in a statement.

But, according to former FBI Assistant Director, James Kallstrom, there are serious crimes that the special counsel must focus on.

Media in Meltdown over Comey Firing

In this age of magnified reality, a two-way relationship has developed between the dominant media and the Democratic Party, one that eerily parallels a biological phenomenon.

Symbiosis is the scientific term used to describe a specific biological interaction between two different species wherein both living creatures depend upon one another for their very survival. This is the state of the relationship that presently exists between the left-leaning media and Democrats.

The messaging that is occurring as a result of this symbiotic relationship has become so uniform in content and vantage point it is often difficult, if not impossible, to determine its point of origin.

Democrats Begin All-out Assault on James Comey

In December of 1996, James Carville, who was the campaign manager for then-President Bill Clinton, announced plans to launch an all-out media war against Kenneth Starr.

Starr was the independent counsel looking into, among other things, Clinton’s sexual involvement with a 22-year-old White House intern and his sworn testimony provided during a deposition in the Paula Jones lawsuit.

The investigation headed by Starr led to the eventual impeachment of the 42nd President of the United States.

Amid the heat of the political drama, Carville, as well as various other White House staffers, took to the broadcast and cable news airwaves to personally denounce Starr.
